2009 Trends

Fashion magazines are getting thinner by the minute, however the fashion crowds still have needs. The hunger for individual fashion has never been greater, yet the classics still remain the most economic way to go. Everyone knows style cannot be found in the pages of Vogue however trends are here to stay and the ones I loved are listed right here.

The New Year is near and it will be time to say goodbye to 2009. There are trends we wish would go away and then there are those that made the year perfect and kept us going in style.  To name a few I wish harem pants and acid-wash jeans would die off with the year 09.

2009 Trends To Love

Rock & Roll Chic-leather, leather and more leather.  This rough yet oh so sleek trend has transferred over to pants, tough clutches, cuffs and tiny little leather jackets.

Once Balmain took over Band Jackets came into our lives with a full effect. The Balmain jacket has been photographer over and over on stylists, editors, celebrities and models. The images are endless and we will gladly take it with us into 2010.

The Classics are no trends, however once the economy crashed down on us so did our budgets.  This meant dusting off those good old classics that make for a great outfit.

Chunky Chains & Body Jewelry-this year jewelry has proved to us that it can go further than just the basics, your arms, back and legs, well almost every part of your body wants to be adorned with beautiful pieces.

Big/padded shoulders, the love of Lady Gaga goes far but the over exaggerated shoulders do not.  If the 80s have taught us anything it is that bigger is not always better, however a bit of definition never hurt anyone and this is why I love big(ger) shoulders in any nicely tailored blazer.

Over the Knee boots, is agreeably not new to style worshippers however an amazing trend to try out if you have not already. Pair your favorite skinny jeans

Cold weather separates, Denim shorts in the winter? Blame it on Kate Moss, but it looks wonderful when paired with black tights, chunky sweater or sleek blazer.

Glitz & Studs-studs, studs everywhere.  Accessories or clothing, no item was safe from studs or glitzy details.

Tights have not gone anyplace, in fact they became more decorative and with a higher price tag. Whatever your heart pleases tights can do.
