NYC-we are aiming to be an inspirational blog consisting of things that are fun, empowering and educational for women and girls.

le la Moda was originally created and written by a fashion & life dreamer. After going through a tough time I decided to express myself through art and writing. I spend a small portion of my life growing up in Europe and have been influenced by fashion from a young age. My very bohemian grandmother brings me down to earth and reminds me every day where my main source of inspiration comes from.

One of my goals for this website is to inspire other girls around the world and help them boost up their self esteem so they know to never give up and always reach for their goals.

What else can I say except that fashion is the best way to express yourself to the world. My thinking always concentrates around the theory that if you look good you feel good. I have done a bit of fashion styling however currently I am in the process of designing a jewelry collections, which I hope to reveal to the world very soon.

MEET the girls of You & Your City

Kristina Korsholm -I’m Danish born with a tad of Spanish Gypsy. I live in LA and when I’m not blogging I work as an actress.

To me, fashion is like a universe of fun possibilities and my closet is my private playground. I love to dress up and when I can’t afford the latest must-have of the minute I get creative and mix vintage with items from my closet I have inherited from my grandmother. I love contrasts. I get bored with the obvious. I’m like a nomade. I travel and move a lot and unfortunately I have had to let some of my valuable outfits go from time to time. I’ve always regretted it afterwards.

I’ve worked as a model and as a writer for many years and still do, which has made fashion a natural part of my daily life. I don’t always follow the latest trends and I don’t judge others by their sense of fashion, but solely on their behavior towards others. I detest it when self-acclaimed fashion gurus around the world make people feel bad because they are not spotted in the latest trends. Less ego and more compassion is my motto. My dream is to have a place in New York and Paris besides my home in LA.

My point of view: The fashion industry and fashionistas in South Africa are have a very different and unique vibe when compared to other cities.

Andjelka Dakic – I am a fashion design student from Belgrade, Serbia. Interested in everything involving design, art and innovation. I am fascinated by educated, informed and creative individuals; inspired by people’s stories and long conversations with my boyfriend. Currently I am obsessed with Berlin, oversized jewelry, vintage shops, brocantes, Southern France, yacht design and Twitter.

I will try to bring you closer to the Eastern European fashion scene, culture, trends and people. You will get a chance to see what it is like to live in a city the city of Belgrade. You will also be able to keep up with my fashion student life, my own thoughts and ideas. You will meet new people as I meet them. You will have the front row seat at the making of my senior project collection. At the end you will realize how all of us might be living a different lifestyle but no matter where we live, we are all connected by the same need of expressing ourselves through fashion, style and art.
