Reconnection

3 fashion shows, auditions and lunch with the Pinot Grigio Club at Chateau Marmont is a pretty fun way to reconnect with Los Angeles again. Per se I’m fine with the fact that the desert road has been exchanged with the catwalk for 3 days. Had enough of the dust, expensive car repairs (3,400 usd so far!!!) and the farmer tan I was sporting. But I can’t help, but wonder what the hell happened to my modeling retirement plan? Ha ha…

On a different note, I just got some really, really cool styles in this morning from Object that I want to share with you later. I’m crazy about the broad 80’s shoulders, the short skirts, the cropped jackets, gloves and all the zippers. I just need to shoot them and I’ll post it right here. Here’s a taste…

Now I’m out the door continuing the journey…

Take a look at this video of models taking it off. It was inspired by 350.org and the day of action that happened on October 24th. Their aim is to make people aware of global warming, by educating and letting everyone know what needs to be done in order to take back our planet and make it healthy again. Right now it is running a high temperature. Happy Friday!

Model Moment-Daily Photo Slovak Model Zuzana Gregorova ketches our attention and the cover of Marie Claire Italia for August 2009. The petite Bratislavian is only 5′9. That is short in the modeling world. She walks the runways for all the big names, we have seen her face in the DKNY Jeans ad campaign and the Christian Dior addict ad campaign. The magazines, from Vogue to L’Officiel, love her. Keep the work coming, as Zuzana is not going anyplace.

Chanel Optimism

I am a bit disappointed with the Fall 2009 Chanel Couture show, however admitting Karl Lagerfeld has done more than amazing work for the house of Chanel. No one gets it right every time and every show it seems as if Coco Chanel still lives and has created the production herself. The magic of Paris plays a big part in the show and to me the models can walk around in a potato sack they will glide down the runway right out of a fairy tale. This is Chanel.

I do feel the fabrics had an outdated look, frames were too boxy and those shoes are just not flattering on anyone, however I fell in love with the gowns and their detailed work. We can always count on the outstanding craftsmanship and in the end that is what a girl wants in a great dress or suit. I picked what I felt were the best of the show for me and my style. Chanel can never do wrong in my eyes, forever Chanel.
