Since my hair tends to me on the dry side and a bit damaged from coloring I like to break up my usually routine of using some wonderful brands with something a bit more fresh. My only wishes this Christmas are; health, family laughter and happiness. It is the small things that can sometimes become the biggest gifts. I feel the same about beauty products. Giving yourself or your gift receiver a thoughtful gift only counts if it is not harmful, after all with so many options out there why chose a product that is unsafe. True beauty addicts know that if you use a product every day you avoid anything with potentially harmful ingredients. They like to lurk around in your beauty drawer, tis the season to replace them.

Darkest Purple Reign

Now that September has officially sneaked up on us it is time to change that pretty polish color. Cross over to the dark side with the darkest purple you can find, almost black I tell you. Alright so the Piggy Paint is not purple, however it is an adorable name for a brand therefore I had to throw it in here.

I am not sure how you feel about a dark nail polish but I am all over it. Subtle pink move over, this color wants to be seen and screams don’t mess with me. Oh and yes they are all as green/natural as can be.

We envy companies that can create a safe product which actually works. Natural hair products are not always the best for creating a perfectly styled mane, however I can confidently say head Organics has got it right. It all started with a shampoo created by two LA hairstylists. California has fallen in love and it all spiraled down from there. What they promise is this; their products are all made with natural and biodegradable ingredients that will provide you with high quality performance. The same you might get from your current shampoo, minus the chemical guilt. The shampoo is clear and makes you feel like your hair is especially clean after use. The feeling of being safe from chemicals is a good one.

Today travel can be described in one word: convenience. These days we splurge on the important stuff, if you are smart you will own a fancy credit card so they let you in the members only lounge at the airport. The comfortable seating, the food and service is something that obviously cannot be beat. Before you even get there, all vacations start with packing. You know those little items that are supposed to make your life easier but seem to take up more room or become an annoyance? You have the bathing suit, a large hat and a great pair of sunglasses. Save yourself the extra space with these ideas for a more stress free and convenient travel.

Who wants to painfully tweeze or wax eyebrows on or off vacation time. I am always very hesitant with new tools for eyebrows because lets face it, the idea of things going wrong is scary. Products I am excited about? Of all the great organic and eco goodies out there, in my bag you will currently find…

I keep at least two or three lip balms in my bag, you can never have too many delicious flavors.

Burt’s Bees lip balm with Mango Butter has it all; nourishing, antioxidants, vitamins, natural sweeteners and comes in a 30% post-consumer recycled tube. For a company that has been in the earth-friendly beauty business for over 25 years they just keep getting better.

A another favorite is a natural lip balm MoistStic, even better if you chose their healing Tea Tree Oil flavor.

I fell in love with this little tube of herbal recovery eye cream from the natural beauty experts Jurlique. It provides high performance for your tired eyes anytime and anyplace, but no need to worry because the formal is made to be long lasting. There was a point in my life when I thought plastic bottles were taking over my recycling bin. To fight the summer hair frizz I keep Head Organics hair serum on hand. It is clean, non-grease and above else natural. What are some of the ingredients? They include; green and white tea leaf, pomegranate fruit, ginger root and aloe vera. There are many hair serums out there, however the reason this one is worth the space in my bag is because it can be easily combined with other products. This means my hair is not greasy at the end of the day.
